Questions kitchen remodelers ask about marketing

Plain answers for kitchen remodeling company owners on reviews, Houzz, Google Ads, consultation follow-up, the benchmark data and the free 14-day trial.

How many Google reviews does a kitchen remodeling company need?

Enough that a homeowner comparing three firms does not rule you out on count alone. Across 9,352 kitchen remodeler listings the median is 9 reviews and 50.7% have fewer than 10. The top tenth sits at 59 or more. For a firm doing 30 to 60 kitchens a year, one review per completed project is a realistic pace and gets you into the top tenth in two years. The reviews guide has the ask-at-final-walkthrough script.

Is Houzz still worth paying for?

The free profile is worth an afternoon: projects, photos, reviews, and a link back to your site. The paid Pro+ program at $300 to $1,500 a month depends on your market. In metros where Houzz leads cost less than $150 and your designer can close one in five, it pays. Most owners never measure that. Track every Houzz lead through to a signed contract for 90 days before renewing.

What does a lead cost on Google Ads for kitchen remodeling?

A tracked consultation request from search runs $120 to $400 in most US metros, higher in coastal cities. Clicks on "kitchen remodel" terms cost $8 to $35. The accounts that lose money bid on broad ideas and DIY terms and send clicks to a home page with no pricing. The ones that work bid on "kitchen remodeling contractor", "kitchen renovation company" and neighborhood terms, and send the click to a page with a price range and a consultation form. See the Google Ads guide.

Should I put prices on my website?

Yes, as ranges. "Most of our kitchens fall between $45,000 and $85,000" filters out the $12,000 budget before it costs your designer two hours. It also gives Google and AI assistants a sentence to quote when someone asks what a remodel costs in your city. Firms that hide pricing get more form fills and fewer signed contracts. The pricing guide walks through good, better, best tiers.

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for a $50,000 kitchen?

They work for the first step, not the sale. A 20-second before-and-after reel with a soft offer (a free design consultation, a downloadable cost guide) brings in leads at $25 to $90. Most are early in the process. The money is made in the follow-up over the next 60 to 120 days by email, text and retargeting. Run them for the pipeline, not for next week's contract.

How fast do I need to respond to a consultation request?

Within five minutes if the lead comes from an ad, within the hour from any source. A homeowner filling out your form has usually filled out two others the same evening. The first firm to call sets the terms of the comparison. Use the calculator with your own project average to see what a slow reply costs over a year. Most showrooms are shocked.

How much should a kitchen remodeler spend on marketing?

Firms doing $1.5 million to $5 million a year typically land between 4% and 8% of revenue, with referral-heavy firms at the low end. Below 3% you are relying on the phone ringing on its own. A $3 million firm at 5% has $150,000, which covers Google Ads, Meta, a serious photo budget, Houzz and a person to follow up.

What should my Google Business Profile look like?

Primary category Kitchen remodeler, secondary categories for cabinet store or bathroom remodeler if you do them, 40 or more project photos with the city in the description, hours listed (where 29.5% of remodelers show none), and a services list with price ranges. 96% of remodelers have at least one photo, so one photo is not an edge. Forty good ones are. The profile guide covers it.

Where does the benchmark data come from?

Public Google Business Profile listings. We search Google Maps for kitchen remodelers in every state, collect the public fields, remove duplicates and compute the statistics. The current pull holds 9,352 listings across 51 states and is refreshed monthly. No personal data is collected. The full method is on the benchmarks page.

Why does the report say a website matters when most remodelers already have one?

Because the gap in reviews between the two groups is so large. 81.7% of kitchen remodelers list a website, so having one does not make you stand out. But remodelers with a site have a median of 13 reviews and those without have 1. The site is a marker for a firm that takes its public presence seriously, and that firm also asks for reviews.

What is included in the free 14-day trial?

One service of your choice, set up and run in your own accounts for 14 days: Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and Google Business Profile, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back, email and SMS campaigns, bookkeeping, or cold-call appointment setting. Setup usually happens within two business days. Ad spend, where a service uses it, goes to Google or Meta on your own card and you set the cap.

What happens after the 14 days?

You get a plain summary of what was built and what happened, with a monthly price quoted up front. You can keep the service, switch to a different one, or stop. Nothing renews automatically and nothing is deleted from your accounts. If we built a website, you keep the files. If we wrote ads, the campaigns stay in your Google Ads account.

Is a credit card required to start?

No. You text or call (385) 832-7231, or fill out the free trial form, and we set up a short call to pick the service and get access to your accounts. No card is taken at any point during the 14 days.
